EFFORT Racing Bounces Back for Double Podium

roadamELKHART Lake, Wis., - Following a disappointing weekend at the Grand Prix of Detroit, EFFORT Racing has bounced back to secure a double podium at the Pirelli World Challenge triple header at Road America.

In qualifying of Round 10 in Detroit, the No. 31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R had hard contact with the concrete wall, causing enough damage to withdraw the machine from the weekend's events. In the weeks to follow, the team worked around the clock to repair the damage in time for this weekend's three races in the hills of Wisconsin at the legendary Road America road course.

The hard work paid off, and Scotsman Ryan Dalziel returned from Le Mans to the seat of the No. 41 to earn a third place finish in Race Two and a second place finish in Race Three. Despite a tire puncture in Race One, he recovered to earn his fifth and sixth podiums of the 2015 race season. After a difficult Race One, in which a mechanical issue prevented him from starting, rookie Michael Lewis also celebrated a successful weekend, earning two top-five finishes from Race Two and Race Three. The 2015 season has proved to be a strong season for the young American, who first started in the GT Amateur class, but after dominating in the class for several races, was moved to the main GT competition class. He now holds four top-five finishes, and a commanding lead on the Rookie of the Year title.

Rounds 13 and 14 of the Pirelli World Challenge GT Championship will take place at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course July 31 to August 2.

Ryan Dalziel // No. 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R
It was a great weekend. The last time for me in the car was Mosport, and that was definitely a difficult weekend for us there. It's great to get a podium here at Road America. It's a shame in Race One we got that flat tire, otherwise, we would have had a third podium. All credit to EFFORT to get a car rebuilt that was pretty much past rebuilding. I appreciate the effort and money the team put into the car. They got it rebuilt so hopefully we could finish the season on the high note. We got great points for the championship this weekend and it was awesome to reward the guys with a couple podiums.

Michael Lewis // No. 41 Porsche 911 GT3 R
It was pretty cool to earn two more top five finishes for the No. 41 car. It was a great way to cap off the weekend of three races. This last race was hard. I fell back a little bit and got stuck behind some cars the whole race. Our Porsche had a lot of pace, but I just couldn't get around a couple cars. Luckily there was one final restart that gave me a chance to make something happen. I was just sitting back to let the chaos happen, and that's exactly how it unfolded. Some guys crashed, and I was keeping my nose clean. Congrats to my teammate Ryan for another podium finish. Thanks to my team for keeping me calm on the radio. I was quite animated. Overall, the Porsches were strong and it was a great weekend.
