INCREASED TIMES FOR JaguarRSR AT MAZDA RACEWAY LAGUNA SECA; TEAM QUALIFIES 11TH

Laguna QualifyingMONTEREY, California (May 21, 2010) - The JaguarRSR XKR GT has increased its top speed and decreased lap times at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca since its first appearance last fall. From the time that the car rolled out of the JaguarRSR truck for the test session last night up to today's qualifying session for the American Le Mans Series Monterey Present by Patron race, it has improved four seconds from its first showing and hopes to improve even more for tomorrow's main event.
"Our time during the test session certainly taught us a number of things that we utilized today regarding the balance of the car," said Paul Gentilozzi JaguarRSR Principal Partner and co-Driver. "We made some positive changes this morning and we ran through some different evaluations in practice."

Marc Goossens started the morning practice behind the wheel of the #75 JaguarRSR XKR GT, with Ryan Dalziel taking over just after the half-way point of the one-hour session. Dalziel returned to the car in the afternoon to run in both the practice and qualifying sessions.

"We came into this weekend and we knew what our two weaknesses were: reliability and pace," Dalziel said. "I think that after productive tests we have ironed out the reliability issues and that was our first objective. Hopefully we run a flawless race and have a car at the end but we now need to start concentrating on finding some speed in the car. We did not get the most out of the #75 JaguarRSR XKR GT in qualifying and I think that our race pace is going to be a lot better then what we showed in qualifying. So it is up to the team to get a good race car together and then for Marc and I to keep it out of trouble and hopefully we are there at the end."

Dalziel completed 10 qualifying laps, posting a 1:26.381 (93.271 mph) on his fourth orbit around the 2.238-mile permanent road course. That time put the JaguarRSR team 22nd on the 35 car grid for Round 3 of the 2010 American Le Mans Series Presented by Patron, 11th in class (GT).

"Overall it was a positive day in that we really didn't have any major problems," Gentilozzi added. "With the information that we have gathered, we believe that we can make a steady and consistent race car that is going to run good times throughout an entire stint and hopefully with some good strategy and smart racing by Marc and Ryan we will be able to come out with a positive race result."

Gentilozzi was entered as one of the three drivers alongside Goossens and Dalziel to run in this weekend's six-hour endurance event. However, he has officially withdrawn due to illness. Goossens will take the green flag for the team and Dalziel will be expected to bring it home.

The green flag will fall at 2:30 p.m. PDT on Saturday, May 22. The full race will be streamed live online at americanlemans.com starting at 5:30 p.m. ET in partnership with TodoCast.tv. Live radio coverage will be available on American Le Mans Radio presented by Porsche - a production of Radio Show Limited - as well as Sirius Channel 127 and XM Channel 242. Timing & Scoring will also be available on the series' site. International coverage: Watch 3-hour American Le Mans Series highlights from Laguna Seca on Sunday 30 May at 4pm (BST) on Motors TV.
